Satin Black Vase with Red Shapes

A satin black vase with glossy deep red shapes that pop off the surface. The color and form are giving vampiric feelings as if the vase can take off and fly away at any point.

A wheel thrown form that is trimmed once leather hard. The handles are extruded and attached to the form while quite wet, added one-by-one until the proportions are in harmony. The glazed shapes are created using a wax etching technique, having the look of inlay and feel as if the color is intrinsic in the form.
