Alabaster Vase with Black Brushstrokes

A satin white vase with glossy black shapes that pop off the surface. The color and form are giving vampiric feelings as if the vase can take off and fly away at any point.

A wheel thrown form that is trimmed once leather hard. The handles are extruded and attached to the form while quite wet, added one-by-one until the proportions are in harmony. The glazed shapes are created using a wax etching technique, having the look of inlay and feel as if the color is intrinsic in the form.
